Here's an image I created using a photo taken by Jacob Carracher, a paramedic working in Australia. Here's his back story on this photograph.
"The image was taken at Dinner Plains, Victoria, which is located just south east to the popular tourist town of Mt Hotham. We as a part of strike team 2096 from the Bendigo and Shepparton region were deployed on Friday the 3rd to protect the major assets of Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain. We were tasked with patrolling the residential area of Dinner Plain prior to a potential wind shift which would see the town come under threat (this did not eventuate on the weekend we were there). We were able to sit down at a property towards the back of the residential area for a short period of time, seeking shelter under the balcony from the sun. I was able to take this quick snapshot of Kirsten (a crew member on my truck) before getting back to work.
I feel at this time anything that we in the emergency services field can do to assist those in their time of need both through front line activity and fundraising is truly a tribute to the Australian Culture and would be greatly appreciated".
Funds raised from this image will be used to support the Code 9 Foundation and first responders who have been directly impacted by the fires.
