If you were told that there was a monster who had killed over 1.6 million people and that that monster lives in a cave close by, you would probably “avoid it like the plague.” This beast doesn’t care who you are, and it doesn’t care about your political beliefs, race, gender or financial agendas. It does, however, threaten to kill you, your friends and your family.

While most people are doing their best to isolate, healthcare workers are face to face with this virus every day: risking not only their health but their families’ health as well. Just like the field medics, nurses and doctors of war, today’s healthcare workers are sacrificing their health and lives to help those who have been bitten by this monster. I hope these sacrifices are officially recognized one day; until then, let’s support each other the best we can.
