Is grit a measure of resilience? Or is it a warning sign to get some support systems in place? Firefighters are eager to dirty their new bunker gear and proud of their burnt, melted, toxic-covered helmets. We do extraordinary, crazy and wonderful things in our jobs and experience the edge of life events that most will never see. It’s bound to leave its mark on us, and how much we can bear isn’t something to be minimized.
